5 Times to Express Gratitude
Slow down and enjoy the little things.

  1. Eating
I think the religious have this one covered for the most part by taking the time to thank their God for the food in front of them, but no matter what you believe in (or don’t), expressing gratitude before, during, or after your meal is a simple way to ensure an attitude of gratitude.

2. After exercising
This is a given after a yoga class. Every class, no matter what version of yoga you’re doing, ends in Corpse Pose, which is where you’re supposed to take the time to breathe and thank your body for working so hard. You don’t have to take up yoga to participate in this gratefulness, though. You can thank your body at any time after you're done exercising. It’s just hugely beneficial to do so when you can actually feel how hard your body has worked. But that may just be my yoga bias speaking again. :)

3. In the shower
Seriously. You have running water. You’re able to clean yourself essentially whenever you want. Do you know how many people in this world don’t have that ability? Be grateful. Say thank you.

4. Whenever you buy something new
Again, there are way too many people in this world who can’t afford to even buy a loaf of bread. So the next time you find yourself buying anything, take a moment to express gratitude for your financial blessing because no matter how little you think you have, there are millions who have even less.

5. Before you go to bed
First of all, you have a bed, so be thankful for that. But also be thankful that you made it through another day. Even if you don’t feel like you did anything significant, you are alive, and as long as you are alive, you can express gratitude for another day.

Have you said thank you yet?
