New Theme for June 2023: Summertime Dreaming

Ahhh, yes! It’s summertime, baby!

If not for the oppressive heat (at least in Texas), this would probably be my favorite season.

There’s just something about the endless sunshine and the extra time off to enjoy it that makes me feel like anything and everything is possible.

Which is why this month we’re going to be tapping into that energy of imagination and possibility with the theme of Summertime Dreaming.

For submissions, we’re looking for:

  • Fiction that transports the reader to another world or has characters who are exploring their fantasies and/or possibilities.
  • Poetry that captures the elements of imagination, fantasy, and wonder
  • Personal narratives and advice about the power of imagination and exploration
  • Reviews on media that allow us to escape into another world or broaden our horizons on what is possible in our lives

If you have something that fits this theme, submit it here! We’d love to share it!

On another note, this summer I’ve finally managed to carve out time to cross some items off my travel bucket list and connect with loved ones I haven’t seen in far too long.

Since I’ll be quite busy enjoying my summer and tapping into my own realm of possibility, my posts this month will be cut in half. However, I do have some absolutely amazing stories written by a couple guest authors to share with you all instead.

In short, here’s a sneak peek of upcoming content this month:

Friday, June 9Guest Author Jazzlyn Silva: Phoenix Awakening, a dystopian, YA novel excerpt

Friday, June 16Guest Author Mika Burnett: 7 Lives, a fantasy novel excerpt

Friday, June 23Book Review: Broken Things by Lauren Oliver

Friday, June 30Game Review: Black Desert Online, 5 Reasons BDO is My Favorite Virtual Escape

As always, all other days this month will be available for any submissions so don't hesitate to share your stories!

Also, let me know which post you're most excited for this month or what you think about the theme in the comments below. I'd love to hear from you! 💓
